Here is an attractive looking short drop clock with a highly unusual label which reads “Improved Clocks; Manufactured and sold by BRADLEY & AUSTIN; STRAIGHTS VILLE, CON.” Sadly this clock did not come with its original wooden works movement, but had a brass movement fitted to it. This maker is so uncommon that they are not listed in Snowden Taylor’s 30 hr wood works movement guide, even the updated on-line version. I have a loose T.M. Roberts short drop movement that at the moment I am planning on using for this restoration, But that will be down the road some.
