Rodney Brace 8 day Wooden Works Clock circa 1831-1834
Here is an image of my Rodney Brace 8 day wooden works clock as received. Although this does not look too bad, there was a lot of work to do. The veneer on both doors was replaced in a rather poor fashion and there are numerous splits and nail heads present on other portions of the veneer
With restoration in progress
I decided to add feet to this immense clock and came up with this design of my own. I realize that these are not historically correct. Therefore, my clock is merely sitting on these feet and they are not permanently attached. But I think they look great and really set things off.
Here is a photo of the completed Rodney Brace 8 day wooden works clock.
This tablet image is from a Jonathan Burr Carved Column clock. It is Aurora lighting up the morning sky. Aurora was frequently the subject matter on Boston area Banjo clock. She was also used occasionally by Riley Whiting. The format on the Jonathan Burr Tablet fits very well into what I needed for this Rodney Brace Clock.
